Starchasers
Starchasers is our parish wide Sunday morning club for children in Year 1 to 6. Our aim is to tell the children about God in a creative & engaging manner – and to have a lot of fun too.
Each session features a range of activities including games, crafts, bible stories, creative prayer and small group time. And at the end of each term we award prizes for the kids who’ve earned the most stars.
We usually meet on the second and fourth Sundays of each month in St. Andrew’s School and each session runs from 10.45am to 12.15pm.

Scorpion Football
Scorpion football is a tournament where 3 teams compete against each other. First there is the group stage and the winning team at this stage goes straight through to the final. The other two teams then compete in a semi-final to see who they will play in the final. The last match of the day is the final that will determine the overall winner.
Scorpion football is for 7-11 year olds and takes place on Wednesday afternoons during term time at St. Andrew’s school.

THE GAP
THE GAP is a club to support those who are either side of the gap between primary and secondary school. It meets every Monday during term time at St. Andrew’s Church and it’s for anyone aged 11-14 years old.
This term we’ll be looking at at the Holy Spirit. We’ll look at the promise of the Holy Spirit, its arrival, the fruits of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit in action.

Bemerton Soul
Bemerton Soul will run from Monday 13th to 17th August 2012.
This year we’re going to run the kids club (5-11 years old) for the full five days from Monday to Friday. This year our theme is ‘The Olympics’ so come along and and compete to win gold for your team. We’re also going to have a great big bus for young people (11+ years old) which will be parked nearby each afternoon.
And on Friday night we’re going to have a party to which all local people are invited. There will be a barbecue, music, sports, craft and the prize-giving ceremony for the week.

Kids Club
Fridays 3:30-5:00pm at the Paget Centre.
Kids club is a Bible club run by London City Mission (LCM) at the Paget Centre on Friday afternoons. At Kids club we look at a different Bible story each week and have songs, games and crafts based on the day’s theme. During each Friday session there is food and drink for the kids.

Assemblies
We currently help with assemblies at two local schools - St. Andrew’s School & Thornhill School. The theme for our assemblies in and April and May is Inspirtional People. We’ll be looking at a few of our heroes and how the put their faith into action. Our heroes include Bono, Catherine Booth, John Laing, St. Alban, Amy Carmichael and John Wesley.
If you would like us to help with assemblies at your school, or any other type of school’s work, then please contact our Children’s Worker, Stephen Mawhinney (contact details at the bottom of the page).

Events
Throughout the year we hold various one-off events. The main events we organise are:

Superheroes Party: On Halloween night (31st October) for 5-11 year olds. The Superheroes party has been running for about 9 years now and it’s a fun evening where we play lots of games, eat food and it ends with a fancy dress parade. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite hero with prizes for the best costumes. To read more about the 2011 Superheroes Party click here.

Bemerton Carols: After Bemerton Soul in the Summer we have Bemerton Carols in the Winter. A Carol Service on the Bemerton Estate and an afternoon of Christmas fun. For more deatils about Bemerton Carols 2011 click here.

Pancake Party: This is one of our biggest events of the year and is open to all families and children. Come and join us on Tuesday 21st February (Pancake Tuesday) 2012 between 4.30pm and 7.30pm at All Saints Church. For more details about the 2012 party click here.

Sunday 1st July 2012 10.30am – Parish Starchasers & Starlets Service:
On Sunday 1st July we’ll have our Parish-wide Starchasers & Starlets service at St. Andrew’s Church. At the service we shared what we’ve learnt this term about reading the Bible using games, songs, videos, readings and ridiculous props. It was also a great chance for all three churches in the Parish to come together and worship God.

And check back here later for more information on other events closer to the time.
