Starchasers
Starchasers is our parish wide Sunday morning club for 6-11 year olds. Our aim is to tell the children about God in a creative & engaging manner – and to have a lot of fun too.
Each session features a range of activities including games, crafts, bible stories, creative prayer and small group time. And at the end of each term we award prizes for the kids who’ve earned the most stars.
We meet on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of each month in St. Andrew’s School and each session runs from 10.45am to 12.15pm.

Scorpion Football
Scorpion football is a fun, fast-paced, 3-a-side version of the game that promotes teamwork and skill. Each match is 3 v 3 with just one goal deciding the winner and the winning team stays on until they are beaten. Teams are assigned on the day so you can just turn up by yourself and play.
The junior session of Scorpion football (for 7-11 year olds) takes place on Wednesday afternoons during school term time at St. Andrew’s school.

THE GAP
THE GAP is a club to support those who are either side of the gap between primary and secondary school. It meets every other Monday at St. Andrew’s Church and it’s for anyone aged 11-14 years old.
The aim will be to look at what Christianity is all about. We’ll use music, films and other media to see what other people say about it. We’ll use the bible to see what it says. And we’ll be asking what we think about Christianity and what that means to us.

Kids Club
Fridays 3:45-5:00pm at the Paget Centre.
Kids club is a Bible club run by London City Mission (LCM) at the Paget Centre on Friday afternoons. At Kids club we look at a different Bible story each week and have songs, games and crafts based on the day’s theme. At the end of each Friday session there is food and drink for the kids.
Expressions
Mon-Thurs 3:45-5:15pm at the Paget Centre.
On weekday afternoons LCM offer music lessons for primary school aged children. Lessons last half an hour and kids can learn the piano or guitar. Parents are invited to stay with their kids during the lesson. For more information contact Daniel Burrows at the Paget Centre.
Assemblies
We currently help with assemblies at two local schools - St. Andrew’s School & Thornhill School.
The theme for our assemblies in June and July is “Growing and Changing”. At this time of year we’re looking to the future and thinking about how we’ll grow and change – and that is especially true for Year 6 who will be about to undergo one of the biggest changes in their lives. We will be looking at a number of bible characters and see how they reacted to different changes and challenges in their life and seeing what we can learn from them.
If you would like us to help with assemblies at your school, or any other type of school’s work, then please contact our Children’s Worker, Stephen Mawhinney (contact details at the bottom of the page).
Events
Throughout the year we hold various one-off events. The three main events we organise are:
Superheroes Party: On Halloween night (31st October) for 6-11 year olds. The Superheroes party has been running for about 6 years now and it’s a fun evening where we play lots of games, eat food and it ends with a fancy dress parade. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite hero with prizes for the best costumes. To read more about the 2008 Superheroes Party click here.
Pancake Party: On Pancake Tuesday. This is one of our biggest events of the year and is open to all families and children. This year we had over 70 kids and between them and the adults we worked our way through over 500 pancakes. To read more about the 2009 Pancake Party click here.
Summer Barbeque: Last summer we had a family barbeque for to the whole Parish at St. Andrew’s Church. We had a joint service for all three churches to join together to worship and afterwards we had a barbeque to celebrate Starchasers’ Birthday.
And check back here later for more information on other events closer to the time.
