Church on the Corner

Church on the Corner is an Anglican church in an old pub in Islington, London

We have finally fixed a date for a church weekend away this year. The date for your diaries is: Friday 8th – Sunday 10th November 2013.

We’ll be returning to Ashburnham Place, a Christian conference centre which worked really well as the venue for our last church weekend away back in 2011. You can check out pictures here: http://www.ashburnham.org.uk/

I know that November may feel like an aeon away, but we do need to book rooms to confirm our reservation, and so over the next few weeks we’ll be asking you to fill in a form and pay a deposit to secure your place. Yes! You will need to commit. Don’t be scared now…

The costs for the weekend are listed below. You can opt to share a room, or pay a little extra to have your own space (I believe there are a max of two beds in each room).
**Please note that this cost is an all inclusive deal and covers 2 nights accommodation and all meals, including dinner when you arrive on Friday evening, so you shouldn’t need to pay for anything else over the weekend other than your transport to Ashburnham (the nearest station is Battle, about an hour and a half by train from London).**

Budget – £100 per person for two sharing, £120 per person for single occupancy
Standard – £130 per person for two sharing, £150 per person for single occupancy
En suite – £160 per person for two sharing, £180 per person for single occupancy

The church weekend away has always been a great opportunity to spend time together as Church. The weekend will be loosely structured with seminars from a guest speaker, time for worship, prayer and reflection as well as plenty of free time just to hang out together.

Rest assured there will be more emails and notices to follow, but in the meantime if you have any questions please just ask Mark, Helen Codling or me (I’ve cc’d them into this email). We’d love as many of you to come on the weekend away as possible, and would hate for anyone to miss out just because money is an issue; so please do speak to one of us if you feel that the costs are prohibitive and we will figure something out.
