One of the important and distinctive things about our worship at Church on the Corner is that it is a shared event rather than a performance. We love to sing, and you will find that given the chance people will sing confidently, and even break into harmony. So the role of the worship leader is simply to serve and facilitate the worship of the people of God. Which is a relief – it takes the pressure off, and it is about what the spirit of God is doing in his people, not about how well we perform.

We have music books available at church, or there are PDF’s you can print out. Email mark for the zip file of them.

In terms of structure you are free to be creative, but our services usually have an opening set of 3 and then closing 2 songs. Or on weeks where we have communion (a list of services can be found here) perhaps an appropriate song before the communion prayer. We aim for a good balance of ancient and modern. Try and start and finish with a well known song.
